The Reducing Crime Podcast
Jerry Ratcliffe is a former British police officer, college professor, and host of the Reducing Crime podcast. He works with police agencies around the world on criminal intelligence strategy and crime reduction. He has a PhD from the University of Nottingham and has published over 90 research articles and nine books, including most recently “Reducing Crime: A Companion for Police Leaders”. Ratcliffe has been a research adviser to the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Commissioner and is a member of the FBI Law Enforcement Education and Training Council. He is a professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA. The Reducing Crime podcast is available directly from SoundCloud or as a free download via iTunes. Follow @reducingcrime for updates on the latest episodes and news. The podcast was designed for practitioners as a way to more easily access interesting researchers and information. Academic journal articles are not conducive to easy access, and they are not easy to digest, according to Ratcliffe. He wished to provide an avenue for practitioners to access academia in more interesting and accessible ways.
