Routledge have commissioned us to produce an edited collection on Sport, Crime and Young People. This book aims to explore the intersection between young people’s engagement with sport and crime in a global context. Topics and inputs from a range of disciplines are welcome. Below are suggested topic areas, but this is not an exhaustive list:
- Sport related crime committed by young people
- Sport as a crime prevention tool for young people
- Desistance through sport for young people
- Young people as victims of sport related crime
- Exploitation of young people through sport
- Intersectionality, young people and sport
- Sport related violence and young people
- Drug misuse by young people in sport
If you would like to contribute to this book, please email Rich Hester (rhester@brookes.ac.uk) a chapter abstract of up to 300 words by Friday 15 November 2024. A book proposal based on the abstracts will then be sent to Routledge for peer review. Once the review is complete, we will provide definitive timelines of when full chapters would need completing, but you will be given sufficient notice of this. Completed chapters should be up to 6,000 words in length, including reference lists.
